As 2017 rolls on, we continue to complete both proactive and reactive projects and capital improve-ments to our facilities. With the heightened emphasis and change to national health department guide-lines we began earlier this year the Cold Line Upgrade project to focus on food production lines that do not consistently hold the required refrigeration hold times. If you look at a Taco Bell line with the additions of the hot dry well, GTO Grill, and EVO over the years the cold portion is the only one that has not been upgraded. The most cost effective and successful route has been the ‘re-charge’ where we change out the main refrigeration equipment parts of the cold line and re-charge it away from the old R-22 refrigerant as well. All stores that have the need will have this ‘re-charge’ or a whole new line by Spring 2018. We also continue to complete capital improvements to our assets via store visits and as aged equipment fails we replace them. Look to the future: All Taco Bells will have two fryers by 2018 in anticipation of the Fries rollout.
July marked the end of the most recent insurance policy year for BurgerBusters Inc. and its Affiliates, but more significantly it ends the five year period that our insurance premiums are calculated, with claims performance representing 80% of that calculation. We ended that period ranked 1st in claims performance compared to all other franchisees part of our insurance captive, FIG, during that same time period. Cheers to a job well done!
